I chose to explore content objects this week because I work with very young students, Pre-K/K, and I felt like these tools may be more useful in my classroom, compared to information literacy.

SeeSaw- I liked this app because it is fairly versatile and it's free. I like that it can be used for student portfolios as a way to share work with parents, as well as to communicate messages to parents. It will also allow us to track student progress by keeping tack of word toward mastering certain skills. This is something that our administration is always asking for more of, and I think this may be a great way to accomplish several important goals by using only one app.

ABC Mouse- I think this is a great app for young children. It is fun and easy to use. It also provides so many activities that the students would not get bored with it. I also like that each student can progress at their own pace. With the many subjects and activities available, this is a versatile app that students can use in the classroom and at home.

Montessori Preschool- This may be my favorite app that I explored this week because I am a Montessori teacher and can see how I could easily incorporate the use of this app into my classroom without a lot of extra time spent on it. I think it would be easy for my students to use because many of the activities would already be familiar to them so they would likely be able to get started right away. I also like that parents and teachers can view each child's dashboard to track their progress.

All of these apps seem to be similar in that they offer students opportunities to progress at their own pace while mastering skills that are necessary at their grade level. As the students master objectives, they can move on. These apps provide efficient ways for teachers to track progress and see where a student may need extra support as well.
